The traditional Norwegian kransekake (for sale here) is a must for any special occasion.

Translate to english and you could call the kransekake an almond wreath cake. A kransekake is made from almonds, powdered sugar and egg whites.

It is a difficult cake to make, but once done, nothing can compare to a bite of kransekake; a little crisp on the outside, chewy on the inside.

The kransekake comes decorated with icing. Decorated with flags and candy, kransekake is the perfect centerpiece on any festive table.
