Traditional Kransekake. Click for a larger alternative image.

The traditional Norwegian kransekake (for sale here) is a must for any special occasion.

Translated to english, "kransekake" means wreath cake. A kransekake is made from almonds, powdered sugar and egg whites.

It is a difficult cake to make, but once done, nothing can compare to a bite of kransekake; a little crisp on the outside, chewy on the inside.

The kransekake comes decorated with icing.

You can decorate it with flags and candy, or even ribbons and flowers, to make it the perfect centerpiece on your table.

Fresh baked for you!
